Employment Open House

We are currently hiring full-time and per diem Direct Support Professionals.

Our open house will run from Wednesday, February 29 – Friday, March 2, 2012
and will be for the Direct Support Professional positions only.


How does it work?
If you would like to be considered for either a full-time or per diem Direct Support Professional position, come to the administrative office between 9a.m.  and 12:30p.m. or 2p.m. and 4 p.m.  Fill out an application and interviews will be conducted for all qualified applicants. 

 What does a Direct Support Professional do?
A Direct Support Professional provides total care in one of our residential homes to people with disabilities.  This includes driving them to outings/appointments, cooking, laundry, cleaning, bathing, toileting, administering medications and ensuring their safety at all times.

What are the minimum qualifications?
A High School Diploma/GED and a valid NYS Drivers’ License acceptable to Agency Insurance standards.

Do I need experience in the field?
No.  We are looking for caring and compassionate people who are interested in joining our team of professionals.  We offer full paid training.

Do you offer benefits?
Yes.  We offer an outstanding benefits package that starts the first day of the first month after hire.  Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, etc.

What are the hours for the positions you have available?
We offer evenings (typically 2p.m. – 10p.m. or 3p.m. – 11p.m.) that include a 12 hour shift on a Saturday or a Sunday or we offer overnights that include weekends.  All shifts are awake shifts.  We are not currently recruiting for daytime shifts.

What is the pay rate?
$10.70 - $12.20/hour, depends on experience.  We also offer a $1.00/hour shift differential for overnight hours worked.

Our administrative office is located at 4227 Route 50.  Please bring any information you will need to complete an employment application as well as your drivers’ license.  Interviews will be given on a first come basis.  If we have a large turnout there will be a sign-in sheet available so you will know what time your interview is scheduled for.

Position:  Assistant Residential Manager
Location:  Saratoga Springs Area
Pay: $13.06 +/hour, D.O.E.
Hours: 40 hours flexible/week (includes weekdays, weekends and possibility of overnights as needed)
Minimum Qualifications Include:
  • High School diploma\GED
  • 1 year of experience working in the field of MR/DD, (preferable at AIM)
  • Managerial/supervisory experience. (Appropriate education, background and experience considered.)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (offered during training)
  • AMAP Certification (offered during training)
  • SCIP Certification (offered during training)
  • Valid NYS Drivers License acceptable to Agency Insurance Company (Current Valid Insurance card if using own vehicle)
  • Ability to work independently, organization skills, reliability in decision making
  • Lifting/transferring - individuals/Items of various weights – minimum of 50 lbs
  • Effective Verbal and written communication skills
  • Reading/Math skills to perform job duties (Dr's orders, prepare recipe, program documentation, etc.)
  • Demonstrated interest and ability to facilitate the personal outcomes of individuals receiving services
  • Exposure to household and other cleaning supplies, chemicals

·         Valid NYS Drivers License acceptable to Agency Insurance standards/depending on program needs. Maintain valid insurance and provide insurance card if using your own  vehicle.
·         Ability to exhibit/maintain a professional, kind, courteous and patient manner at all times
·         Lifting/transferring – individuals/items of various weights – must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
·         Bending/Reaching/Pushing/Pulling
·         Ability to perform SCIP techniques and maintain certification at all times
·         Effective verbal and written communication skills
·         Reading / Math skills at a level to perform job duties (read-implement physician orders, give medications as ordered, prepare recipes, read program documentation, etc.)
·         Demonstrated interest and ability to make possible the personal outcomes of individuals receiving services
·         Exposure/ability to safely use household chemicals

Minimum Qualifications Include:
  • High School diploma\GED.
  • [3] years experience working in the field of MR/DD, or related field.
  • Knowledge of program specific (ICF, MR/DD, IRA) Regulations.
  • [1] year Managerial/supervisory experience required.
  • Successfully complete and retain CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Successfully complete and retain AMAP Certification.
  • Successfully complete and retain SCIP Certification.
  • Valid NYS Drivers License acceptable to agency insurance standards. (Valid Insurance card if using own vehicle)
  • Ability to work independently, organizational skills, reliability in decision making.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending/Reaching/Pushing/Pulling.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated interest/ability to facilitate the personal outcomes of individuals receiving services.
  • Exposure to household and other cleaning supplies, chemicals.
